Pumpkin patches are lovely, and corn mazes have their charm. But if you are looking for family activities this fall that get everyone out of their seats, cheering at the top of their lungs, and talking about it all the way home, a live monster truck show deserves a spot at the top of your list.

Family Outing for monster truck

At 2X Monster Trucks Live, we have spent over 30 years as a family-owned and operated tour, rolling into town with giant machines, big stunts, and a lineup built for every age in the stands. This guide explains why a monster truck show works so well as a fall outing, what your kids can actually do there, and how to plan the day for a smooth experience.

Why a Monster Truck Show Is One of the Best Fall Activities for Families

Fall is the season of crisp evenings, weekends packed with plans, and kids who need somewhere to burn off energy before the holidays. Most seasonal outings offer one or two of what a family wants. A monster truck show covers nearly all of them in a single afternoon or evening.

  • It is loud, fast, and impossible to look away from. Racing, wheelies, and freestyle runs keep restless kids glued to the action.

  • It works across ages. A toddler on a lap, an eight-year-old truck fanatic, and a parent who just wants to enjoy the show can all have a great time together.

  • It is more than watching. Meet the drivers, ride in a real monster truck, and watch kids race their own Power Wheels on the track.

  • It is easy on planning. One ticket covers the show, general admission seating is first come, first served, and you can save by buying online.

If you are comparing fall activities for kids, think about which ones the kids will still be talking about next week. A 6 tends to win that contest.

What Makes It a Family Friendly Monster Truck Show

Parents often ask whether a monster truck show is really a good fit for younger children. At 2X Monster Trucks, family entertainment is the whole point. Our guests include toddlers, school-age kids, grandparents, and entire birthday-party-sized groups. Here is how the show is set up to welcome them.

Little ones get in free: Children age 2 and younger attend without a ticket as long as they sit on a parent or guardian's lap. Kids ages 3 to 11 use child tickets, and ages 12 and up use adult tickets.

Family pricing options: The General Admission Family Pack covers up to two adults and two children ages 3 to 11, which makes the math simple for a typical family of four. Groups of 20 or more can email support@2xmonstertrucks.com for special rates.

Trucks your kids will recognize: Our tour features 2-time Monster Jam World Champion Bounty Hunter, Dawn Creten (the "Queen of Monster Trucks" and the longest-running female driver in the sport) in Scarlet Bandit, and 4-time Monster Jam World Champion Dennis Anderson, creator of King Sling. Newcomer Shark Bite has already become a kid favorite.

Clear rules and clear expectations: Seating is general admission, tickets can be shown on your phone, and each activity has posted age and height guidelines, so you know what to expect before you arrive.

Hands-On Fun That Turns a Show Into an Experience

The best monster truck show for kids is one where they are part of the story, not only watching it. Here are the experiences that make our shows stand out as monster truck show family entertainment.

Pre-Show Meet and Greet (Pit Party)

Arrive early and get up close to the trucks before they roar to life. At the pit party you can meet the drivers, take photos, and collect autographs. The pit party starts 2 hours before the listed show time and runs for 1.5 hours. Tickets are $10 at the event, cash or card, and the experience is included with an All Access ticket. Kids are welcome to touch the tires and pose beside them for photos.

Ride in a Real Monster Truck

Few kids forget their first ride in a real monster truck. Riders roll, bounce, and roar across the track. A ride ticket is $15 on site, or included with All Access. Riders must be at least 36 inches tall to ride with a parent or guardian, and 52 inches or taller to ride without one. Everyone needs a signed waiver, which is completed while you wait in line. Skip the ride if you are pregnant, prone to motion sickness, or have a condition that rough bumps could aggravate.

Kids Power Wheels Racing

At intermission, the track belongs to the youngest drivers. Kids line up their own battery-powered Power Wheels and race while the crowd cheers them on. Intermission typically comes 45 to 60 minutes after the show starts. Helmets are required, a completed sign-up and waiver are needed, and only unmodified, battery-powered Power Wheels are allowed. Sign up in advance at the Power Wheels sign-up page on our website.

All Access Ticket

If you want to do it all, the All Access ticket includes entry, one Ride Truck ride, a VIP badge and lanyard, an autograph card, and the pre-show meet and greet. The All Access 4-Pack gives you four tickets for any mix of adults and kids. All Access benefits and schedules are subject to change.

Tips for Planning Your Fall Family Outing

A little preparation makes the day easier for everyone.

  1. Buy tickets online: You will get the best available price, and tickets at the gate cost more if the show is not sold out.

  2. Save your tickets before you leave: Download them to your phone, turn the screen brightness up, and make sure the barcode is clearly visible. A printed backup is a good idea.

  3. Arrive early for the pit party: It starts 2 hours before show time, and it is one of the most memorable parts of the day.

  4. Think about ear protection: Monster trucks are loud. Kids ear muffs are a smart addition for younger children and for anyone who is sensitive to noise.

  5. Dress for fall evenings: Layers help when temperatures drop after sunset.

  6. Sign up for Power Wheels ahead of time: if your child wants to race, and bring a helmet.

  7. Plan seating together: Seating is general admission and first come, first served, so arrive early if you want to sit as a group.

Make This Fall the One They Remember

Kids rarely remember the third pumpkin patch of the season. They do remember the first time a monster truck launched off a ramp in front of them, the moment a driver signed their autograph card, or the lap their own Power Wheels took around a real track. For families searching for fall activities for kids that the whole household enjoys, a family friendly monster truck show is a strong bet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is a monster truck show appropriate for young kids?

A: Yes. 2X Monster Trucks is built as family entertainment, with children age 2 and younger admitted free on a parent or guardian's lap. Many families bring toddlers, school-age children, and grandparents to the same show. Because the trucks are loud, ear protection is a good idea for young children.

Q: What is the best age to take a child to a monster truck show?

A: There is no single best age. Kids as young as 1 or 2 can attend on a lap, and children from about 3 to 11 tend to enjoy the pit party, Power Wheels racing, and the show itself the most. Truck rides have height rules: 36 inches to ride with a parent or guardian and 52 inches to ride alone.

Q: Do kids need a ticket?

A: Children age 2 and younger do not need a ticket if they sit on a lap for the entire event. Everyone age 3 and older needs a ticket. Child tickets apply to ages 3 to 11, and adult tickets apply to ages 12 and older.

Q: Is there a family ticket option?

A: Yes. The General Admission Family Pack includes admission for up to two adults and two children ages 3 to 11. It is not valid for four adults. For larger groups of 20 or more, email support@2xmonstertrucks.com to ask about group rates.

Q: What is the difference between General Admission and All Access?

A: General Admission includes entry and general admission seating. All Access adds the pre-show meet and greet, one Ride Truck ride, a VIP badge and lanyard, and an autograph card.

Q: How long is a monster truck show?

A: The pit party begins 2 hours before the listed show time and lasts 1.5 hours. The Power Wheels races take place at intermission, which usually comes 45 to 60 minutes after the show starts. Check your event page for the exact show time at your location.

Q: Can my child race a Power Wheels at the show?

A: Yes. Kids can race at intermission. Sign up and complete a waiver in advance, bring a helmet (required for every child), and use a battery-powered, unmodified Power Wheels. Different voltages are allowed.

Q: Do you offer reserved seating?

A: No. Unless an event page says otherwise, seating is general admission and available first come, first served. Accessible seating is available at most venues, so contact the venue directly for details.

Q: Can I buy tickets at the gate?

A: If the show is not sold out, tickets may be available at the gate at a higher price. Buying online in advance gets you the best available price and helps guarantee admission.

Q: Do I need to print my tickets?

A: No. Tickets can be displayed on your phone. Save them before you arrive, turn up your screen brightness, and keep the barcode visible. Do not share or post your barcode publicly.
