Birthday Outing Idea: A Monster Truck Show for Your Kid's Party
Every parent has been there. The bounce house is booked every weekend, the trampoline park party feels like a repeat of last year, and your child has just announced that this birthday needs to be "the best one ever." If you are looking for birthday outing ideas for kids that actually earn that title, a live monster truck show is worth a serious look.
At 2X Monster Trucks Live, we are a family-owned tour with more than 30 years of experience putting on shows that kids talk about long after the engines go quiet. This guide explains how to plan a monster truck show party for kids, which experiences make the day feel special, and what to know before you book.
Why a Monster Truck Show Makes a Great Birthday Outing

Most party venues give kids a place to play. A monster truck show gives them an event. Here is why it stands out among birthday experience ideas for kids.
It feels huge. Trucks that tower over the crowd, racing, wheelies, and freestyle runs turn an ordinary Saturday into something that feels like a big occasion.
There is no party to host. No setup, no cleanup, and no entertaining a room full of kids yourself. The show does the entertaining.
Kids get to take part. Between the pit party, truck rides, and Power Wheels races, your guests are not just spectators.
It works for mixed ages. Siblings, cousins, and grandparents can all come along without anyone feeling left out.
If you are collecting unique birthday experiences for kids, this is one that stands apart from the usual party-room routine.
The Experiences That Make It Feel Like a Party
You can celebrate a birthday at a monster truck show by building the day around the experiences that kids love most. Here is what is available at our shows.
Start With the Pre-Show Meet and Greet
The pit party is the perfect opening act for a birthday outing. Guests meet the drivers, take photos, pick up autographs, and stand right beside the massive trucks before they roar to life. The birthday kid gets the photos every parent wants, and the guests get a story to tell at school on Monday.
The pit party begins 2 hours before the listed show time and runs for 1.5 hours. Tickets are $10 at the event (cash or card), and it is included with an All Access ticket. Kids can touch the tires and pose beside them, though climbing into or onto the trucks is not allowed.
Add a Ride in a Real Monster Truck
For many kids, this is the moment that makes the birthday. Riders roll, bounce, and roar across the track in a real monster truck. A ride ticket is $15 on site, or included with All Access.
A few ride rules to plan around:
Riders must be at least 36 inches tall to ride with a parent or guardian.
Riders must be 52 inches or taller to ride without a parent or guardian.
Riders under 52 inches cannot sit in the last two seats of the ride truck.
Every participant needs a signed waiver, completed while waiting in line.
Because of these height rules, check your guest list before you promise rides to the whole group.
Let the Birthday Kid Race
At intermission, kids can race their own Power Wheels on the track while the crowd cheers. If your birthday child has a Power Wheels at home, this could be the highlight of the day. Intermission usually comes 45 to 60 minutes after the show starts. Sign up in advance on our website, bring a helmet (required for every child), and use a battery-powered, unmodified Power Wheels. Voltage can vary.
Meet the Stars of the Show
Our tour features 2-time Monster Jam World Champion Bounty Hunter, Dawn Creten (the "Queen of Monster Trucks") driving Scarlet Bandit, and 4-time Monster Jam World Champion Dennis Anderson, creator of King Sling. Shark Bite is a newer truck that has quickly become a favorite with kids. Meeting the people behind these trucks gives the birthday a personal touch that no party room can match.
How to Plan a Monster Truck Show Party for Kids
Here is a simple way to turn a show ticket into a full birthday celebration.
1. Pick Your Show Date
Check the 2026 schedule and choose the stop closest to your birthday weekend. Upcoming stops include Kansas City, KS (October 17 to 18), Ocala and Milton, FL (October 24), Florence, SC (October 31 to November 1), Robertsdale, AL and Kennedale, TX (November 7), La Fayette, AL (November 14), and Dothan, AL (November 21). Shows continue into December. See the full list on our events page.
2. Choose the Right Ticket for Your Group
General Admission: Entry and general admission seating.
General Admission Family Pack: Up to two adults and two children ages 3 to 11.
All Access: Entry, one Ride Truck ride, a VIP badge and lanyard, an autograph card, and the pre-show meet and greet.
All Access 4-Pack: Four All Access tickets for any mix of adults and kids. This is a natural fit for a birthday child, two friends, and a parent.
Children age 2 and younger attend free on a lap. Everyone age 3 and older needs a ticket, with child tickets for ages 3 to 11 and adult tickets for ages 12 and older.
3. Ask About Group Rates for a Bigger Party
We do not currently offer birthday packages, but we do offer group discounts. If your party has 20 or more guests, email support@2xmonstertrucks.com to ask about special rates. Doing this early gives you time to plan.
4. Send Tickets to Your Guests
Tickets can be given to another person for use at the same event, date, and showtime, as long as you send the complete original ticket with its barcode. Each ticket scans only once, so ask guests not to post or share the barcode.
5. Keep the Fun Going Before the Big Day
Build excitement during the countdown. Our website has printable coloring pages, crossword puzzles, and maze games for kids that make a fun activity for the car ride, the pre-party at home, or a small party game before you leave for the show.
Birthday Day Tips for Parents
Buy online in advance. You get the best available price, and gate tickets cost more if the show is not sold out.
Save tickets to your phone. Turn up your screen brightness and keep the barcode visible.
Arrive early. The pit party starts 2 hours before show time, and general admission seating is first come, first served. Arriving early helps your group sit together.
Pack ear protection for kids. Monster trucks are loud, and ear muffs help younger guests stay comfortable.
Dress for the weather. Fall evenings can cool off fast.
Plan a quiet moment. A short snack break or a group photo before the show starts is a good way to mark the birthday.
Check venue rules. If you plan to bring a cake or treats, confirm what the venue allows.
A Birthday That Gets Talked About
Kids can get a cupcake at any party. A monster truck show party for kids gives them engines, autographs, a front-row view, and maybe even a ride across the track. For parents hunting for birthday experience ideas for kids that go beyond the usual, it is an easy way to make a milestone feel bigger than it is.
Pick a date, gather the crew, and head to 2xmonstertrucks.com to see the schedule and get tickets. We would love to help you celebrate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I celebrate a birthday at a monster truck show?
A: Yes. Many families make a monster truck show their birthday outing. We do not offer a dedicated birthday package, but you can build your own celebration around a General Admission or All Access ticket, the pre-show meet and greet, a truck ride, and Power Wheels racing.
Q: Do you offer birthday packages?
A: Not at this time. For large parties, we suggest contacting us for a group discount. Groups of 20 or more can email support@2xmonstertrucks.com for special rates.
Q: What is the best ticket for a kid's birthday party?
A: The All Access ticket is the most complete choice. It includes entry, one Ride Truck ride, a VIP badge and lanyard, an autograph card, and the pre-show meet and greet. The All Access 4-Pack covers four guests in any mix of adults and kids. For simple admission, General Admission or the Family Pack (up to two adults and two children ages 3 to 11) may be a better value.
Q: What ages is a monster truck show party best for?
A: Children of many ages enjoy the show. Kids age 2 and younger attend free on a lap, and children from about 3 to 11 tend to enjoy the pit party, Power Wheels races, and truck rides the most. Check ride height rules before planning, since riders need to be at least 36 inches tall with a parent or guardian.
Q: Can the birthday child ride in a monster truck?
A: Yes, if they meet the height requirement. Riders must be at least 36 inches tall to ride with a parent or guardian and 52 inches or taller to ride alone. A ride costs $15 on site or is included with All Access. A signed waiver is required, and riders should skip the ride if they are pregnant, prone to motion sickness, or have a condition that rough rides could aggravate.
Q: Can the birthday child race a Power Wheels?
A: Yes. Power Wheels races take place at intermission, usually 45 to 60 minutes after the show starts. Complete the sign-up and waiver in advance, bring a helmet, and use a battery-powered, unmodified Power Wheels.
Q: How early should we arrive for the pit party?
A: The pit party starts 2 hours before the listed show time and lasts 1.5 hours. Arrive early to enjoy it, meet the drivers, and take photos with the trucks.
Q: Can I send tickets to my party guests?
A: Yes. Tickets can be given to another person for the same event, date, and showtime. Send the complete original ticket, including the barcode. Each ticket scans only once, so remind guests not to share or post the barcode.
Q: Is seating reserved for birthday groups?
A: No. Seating is general admission and first come, first served unless an event page says otherwise. Arrive early so your group can sit together. Accessible seating is available at most venues, so contact the venue for details.
Q: Where can I find show dates and tickets?
A: Visit the events page at 2xmonstertrucks.com to see upcoming stops and buy tickets online. Buying in advance gives you the best available price.
